E-Publications and Chirpify – A Perfect Match

Today we had author and contributing editor at Wired Magazine David Wolman list an ePub version of his book,The End of Money, for sale on Chirpify. David Wolman is an ideal partnership for Chirpify for numerous reasons.

The End of Money delves into the rapid disappearance of physical money and how technology and other means are shifting age-old currencies. Since we’re working to build a product that makes payments frictionless, social, and simple, this is easily one of our favorite books of 2012.

Check out David’s book below!

So are you an author/writer yourself? Chirpify is a great, simple, and social way to sell your e-publication in-stream on Twitter. To list a publication for sale, sign up with Chirpify first. Once you’re in your dashboard, select “New Listing” on the left column and follow the steps of creating the listing.

Select “Digital” on the item type and upload the file for your ePUB file.

Once you’ve finished filling out the price information on the listing and adding a photo for your publication you can publish the Tweet. And that’s all there is to it!

Chat, Chow and Chirp-

In the past few months, we’ve seen companies and individuals using Chirpify in new and unique ways. We’re going to start writing about some of these cool folks. If you see any cool Chirpify companies, let us know!

Chat Chow is one of these unique companies. We recently sat down with them for a quick Chirp Chat.

Q: Tell us a little bit about your podcast.

A: Chat Chow TV is a weekly, mouth-watering video podcast where we go behind the scenes with the celebrated chefs, owners and mixologists of the food industry.

Q: How did you first hear about Chirpify?

A: At SxSW, with the Tweet-A-Beer application.

Q: Explain how Chat Chow used Chirpify recently.

A: In honor of our one-year anniversary, we decided to cook up something for all of our fellow foodies, both new and old. We called it #ChatChowCheers and it began April 1st (not a joke) and ended on April 30th. We randomly scoured the TwitterSphere for people thinking of, heading to or eating at any of the restaurants that have been featured on Chat Chow TV in the past year and sent them money for a drink (courtesy of Chirpify) because the virtual transportation of alcoholic beverages is still only found in science fiction.

You can see more information on #ChatChowCheers here.

Q: How can Chirpify users find out more about Chat Chow TV?

Want to give away your latest mp3 track? How about a free E-book?

We already enable you to list and sell physical and digital items in-stream on Twitter. So, we thought you should also be able to give things away, and have the order automatically fulfilled. Well, now you can!

Here’s how it works…

When you create a new listing you can now set the price to $0 to give the item away. Instead of people replying with the word “buy”, your followers reply with “gimme“. When they do, we’ll process the listing. Everything else happens as usual.

If it’s a digital item we’ll auto-respond to the person with a download link. As usual, this link will only work for that Twitter user.

If it’s a physical item, receipts and messages will go out and fulfillment will occur just as if you sold the item.

As always, you’ll see a transaction in your dashboard.

Happy giving!
