Let’s Bury Our Hearts in Austin, TX

Once a year the music world coalesces on Austin, TX with an absurd number of bands, managers, agents, labels, promoters, fans, groupies, and everything and everyone in-between.   Spring break for the music industry.  I hold fond memories of jumping fences to sneak into shows like catch Death From Above 1979, Lou Reed, Moby, and N.E.R.D. Catching The Black Keys with 15 people at the Filter party almost 10 years ago. Hosting my first SXSW showcase in 2003 with Acceptance, Copeland and The Rocket Summer,  and trying to help your roommates remember where they went when they disappeared between 3am and 6am.

We will be present for the whole music week and we’d love to meet you in person, give you the spiel on how Chirpify can help you sell more music, merchandise and engage directly with your fans. We’re happy to give a demo.   We love helping artists sell more and make more money.

Email us sxsw@chirpify.com and we’ll set up a time.

Soundscan Has Arrived

The musicians and labels that we’ve been working with over the past few months have been extremely helpful- providing feedback, suggesting new features, etc. One of the features most requested by our musical partners was the implementation of Soundscan.

After a couple months of conversations with Nielsen, back-end development work and a good amount of testing, we’re proud to announce that we have implemented Soundscan reporting for music sales on Chirpify.

The process is pretty simple. When you upload a digital piece of content on Chirpify, a few new text fields will pop up.

In those fields, you just need to put the artist name (double check spelling as all information has to be the same as Soundscan’s documentation states). You also need to put the song/album title as it’s officially registered.

The last step, and most important (once again, double/triple/quadruple check the information), you need to input the ISRC or UPC number for the digital piece of content you are listing. Whether it’s a single or an entire album, Soundscan will work for both!

If you want more information on Chirpify and/or Soundscan implementation, email our VP of Music Development,Rory Felton

So there you have it- Chirpify + Soundscan for world domination! Enjoy and report.

Want to give away your latest mp3 track? How about a free E-book?

We already enable you to list and sell physical and digital items in-stream on Twitter. So, we thought you should also be able to give things away, and have the order automatically fulfilled. Well, now you can!

Here’s how it works…

When you create a new listing you can now set the price to $0 to give the item away. Instead of people replying with the word “buy”, your followers reply with “gimme“. When they do, we’ll process the listing. Everything else happens as usual.

If it’s a digital item we’ll auto-respond to the person with a download link. As usual, this link will only work for that Twitter user.

If it’s a physical item, receipts and messages will go out and fulfillment will occur just as if you sold the item.

As always, you’ll see a transaction in your dashboard.

Happy giving!
